Dear Families
Term 3 Highlights & Reflections
As Term 3 comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on the many activities and achievements across our school. A key highlight was our positive External School Review, which recognised the strong culture we have built and the progress we have made. It is a reflection of the collective effort from students, staff and families.
This term we have enjoyed a range of events including Dad’s Night, Open Classrooms, Book Week, and the Reading Challenge. These opportunities encouraged engagement, curiosity and a love of reading. Dad’s Night was a great success, full of fun and connection.
Our extra-curricular programs have continued to grow, with students participating in Hub Groups, Media Club, Taiko drumming, Art Club, Tool Skool, and the Garden Program. These activities offer valuable hands-on learning, creativity, and teamwork. Next term we are excited to trial some new programs involving sport and cooking.
On the sporting field, students have represented Longford Primary in the 5/6 sport roster, Gala Days, and Country Gold. While we have had some strong results, it has been especially pleasing to see students demonstrating teamwork, fair play and pride in their school. Our updated soccer pitch turf has also been a highlight for students during break times. Next term primary students will engage in Swimming and Water Safety as well as our school Swimming Carnival.
Over the holidays and into the early weeks of next term, we will be making improvements to the Kinder playground as part of our ongoing redevelopment project. It is great to see these plans moving forward and we look forward to sharing the updated space with our Kinder students soon.
Thank you to all staff for your work throughout the term. Your efforts in supporting student learning and wellbeing are appreciated.
We wish all students, staff and families a safe and relaxing break and look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 4.
